Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist to serve as the technical authority on multiple space programs, leading investigations and guiding digital and mixed‑signal electronics development for satellites and space systems.

You will evaluate designs for space flight worthiness, mentor engineers, and ensure reliability, quality, and compliance with security requirements while collaborating with DoD and civil clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field with 12+ years of engineering experience in space digital and microelectronic hardware
• Experience across full lifecycle of space digital and mixed‑signal systems from concept to on‑orbit operation
• Knowledge of space qualification for electrical components and radiation effects, including testing
• Strong troubleshooting skills and lab measurements for hardware anomalies
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills; travel up to 25%; U.S. citizenship and security clearance required

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority on multiple programs, collaborating with internal and external customers
• Provide oversight and guidance on projects, including assessment of space flight worthiness
• Mentor staff and model best practices in digital/mixed‑signal electronics
• Thoroughly evaluate contractor designs and ensure reliability of systems
