Job summary

Blue Origin, based in the United States, is seeking a Senior Cyber Systems Engineer to design and implement cyber security architectures for space systems, connecting flight software to ground operations. You will interpret functional docs, ensure security posture meets customer needs, work with spacecraft development, operations, and test teams, and help harden the spacecraft solution.

Applicants should have TS/SCI, space systems cyber standards experience, and a background in risk assessment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or certification in cybersecurity, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience with space systems cyber standards including CNSSP-12, NCSDMO-8, CNSSI-4003, CNSSI-4005 and NIST 800-53.
• 10+ years experience in Space systems command and data handling systems.
• Knowledgeable of cyber security strategies and practices within the National Security Space industry.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and configure network topologies and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, routing protocols).
• Use outcome-driven metrics and KPIs to measure cybersecurity effectiveness and drive improvements.
• Assess compliance using monitoring technologies and audits, identify non-compliance and actions.
• Document space vehicle network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Support audits with documentation and evidence of compliance.
• Maintain security policies aligned with in-scope frameworks and regulations to manage identified risks.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify threats and vulnerabilities across in-space systems.
