Job summary

Moog, Inc. is seeking a Sr Design Engineer for the Space Actuation team in East Aurora, NY, reporting to the Sr. Mechanical Design Engineering Manager.

The role focuses on translating requirements into detailed CAD models and drawings, with collaboration across engineering functions. The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 5+ years of design experience in aerospace or complex manufacturing, and NC/MCAD proficiency, plus the ability to obtain DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years of design engineering experience in complex manufacturing.
• Deep knowledge of engineering principles, documentation standards, and drafting practices.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Experience with Siemens NX MCAD design software and Teamcenter PLM is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translating complex project requirements into computer models, layouts, and detailed drawings.
• Overseeing technical design, implementation, or delivery of projects.
• Collaborating with systems, project, and quality engineering teams.
• Creating and checking detail drawings; ensuring accurate BOMs.
• Ensuring design integrity with proportionality, tolerance, and material choices.
