Job summary

Moog is seeking a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer for the Space & Defense Group. Onsite in Buffalo, NY, with potential locations in East Aurora, NY or Arvada, CO. Lead development of hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, and electro-mechanical test equipment for space and defense programs.

You will design and implement new electrical test equipment, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of hands-on electrical design experience.
• OR an Associate's degree with 9+ years of hands-on electrical design experience.
• Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
• Self-motivated, critical thinking and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of creative, independent engineers.
• Develop new test equipment through internal collaboration with customers.
• Validate solutions by conducting trade studies and analyses.
• Integrate electronic components into higher level systems.
• Guide Assembly and Test technicians supporting development activities.
• Contribute to work estimates for design and development efforts.
• Maintain engineering records and assess effects of changes on performance.
• Initiate and perform specialized research.
• Create reliable designs through a comprehensive experimental development test program.
• Document designs, analyses, and test results.
• Mentor and coach less experienced engineers.
• Foster teamwork and strong communication.
