Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Senior Analyst of Financial Controls and Compliance at its Richmond, VA home office. The role maintains the SOX control framework, partners with business teams, and serves as a subject matter expert on the SOX impact of initiatives.

You will coordinate with internal and external auditors, drive remediation plans for control deficiencies, and manage quarterly certifications. A four-year accounting degree is required; CPA/CIA certification preferred, with 4+ years of accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• CPA/CIA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 4+ years of general accounting experience.
• Experience with US GAAP, SOX, PCAOB and COSO.
• Strong ITGC knowledge and process improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain SOX controls and flowcharts in Workiva.
• Support scoping, materiality, and risk assessment for ICFR.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors for SOX testing.
• Evaluate root causes and remediation plans for deficiencies.
• Advise on SOX impact of initiatives and process changes.
• Coordinate quarterly SOX certifications with senior management.
• Obtain SOC 1 reports and assess implications.
