Job summary

North Italia in Franklin, TN is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will help guide a culinary team focused on from-scratch preparation, quality, flavor, and hospitality excellence, delivering great experiences for guests.

The role requires managing shifts, mentoring staff, and driving efficiency while upholding safety and sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time on-site opportunity at North Italia.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of high-volume culinary management experience.

Responsibilities

• As the Sous Chef you will manage shifts including daily decision making, scheduling, and planning.
• Demonstrate ingredient knowledge and culinary trends.
• Use experience to help reach financial goals by controlling cost of goods and search for solutions when targets are not met.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and equipment care and maintenance.
• Manage on-the-fly requests with ease and create a calm, positive work environment.
• Foster continuous learning, open feedback, and corrective action as needed.
• Manage labor expectations and plan each scheduled shift; discuss P&L with management.
