Job summary

Novanta Inc. is seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead sourcing of components, materials and services for a world‑class robotics component company.

You will process POs from a qualified supplier base and collaborate with engineering and planning teams to optimize lead times, cost and quality. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing, hands‑on ERP knowledge and APICS certification is desirable.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in a business or technical field.
• APICS certification desirable.
• Hands-on experience with an ERP system.
• Five+ years of purchasing/supply chain experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in sourcing/procuring Printed Circuit Boards and components is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and procurement of components, materials and related services.
• Process purchase orders from internal customers and MRP planning system.
• Solicit bids, analyze quotations, select or recommend suppliers, negotiate purchase agreements.
• Review engineering drawings/specifications and solicit supplier recommendations for cost and lead time reductions.
• Collaborate with suppliers and materials planning to establish and implement purchase agreements and processes.
• Lead supplier meetings to discuss performance, capabilities and costs.
