Job summary

Edwards Vacuum in Basom, NY is seeking a Senior Sourcing Engineer to lead supplier strategy and global sourcing initiatives, with a strong emphasis on local opportunities where feasible. You will collaborate with engineering and production teams, negotiate Master Supply Agreements, manage supplier performance, and drive cost reductions through make-vs-buy analyses and KPI-based improvements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or procurement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain.
• Strong negotiation skills and KPI reporting ability.
• Experience with MRP systems, SAP preferred.
• Reading blueprints and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Identify and research new suppliers globally with local focus.
• Collaborate with engineering and production on material requirements.
• Negotiate Master Supply Agreements with key suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement via KPIs: quality, delivery, cost, working capital.
• Develop commodity strategies for current and future states.
• Support cost reduction via quoting, VE, and make-vs-buy analyses.
• Assist with vendor creation and maintenance in procurement systems.
• Coordinate with planning to optimize purchasing for production.
• Participate in supplier business reviews and scorecards.
• Communicate with stakeholders and uphold safety/ethics standards.
