Job summary

Mercy seeks a Senior Sonographer to expertly operate imaging systems, primarily ultrasound, to support diagnosis and treatment. The role includes leading when needed, serving as a resource, and aiding in staff training while upholding safety and image quality standards.

Strong communication with patients and healthcare teams is essential, with expectations of proficiency in imaging procedures and adherence to accreditation standards. State licensure may be required depending on practice location.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours.
• 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• States licensure may be required depending on location.
• ARDMS/ARRT/CCI certification and 4 advanced registries or 7 years of experience with registries; BLS.

Responsibilities

• Operate imaging equipment and software, primarily ultrasound.
• Act as lead when direct leadership is unavailable.
• Assist in training and act as a resource for staff.
• Ensure patient safety and imaging quality through adherence to protocols.
