Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Senior Sonographer to operate ultrasound equipment and support diagnostic teams. The role includes leading in the absence of a supervisor, mentoring staff, and ensuring imaging quality and patient safety.

The Senior Sonographer will collaborate with clinicians, maintain imaging standards, and adapt procedures to complex cases while prioritizing patient comfort and accurate results.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Sonography with clinical hours completed.
• 2 years of relevant experience.
• State licensure may be required depending on state of practice.
• ARDMS/ARRT/CCI certifications and 4 applicable registries or 2 registries with 7 years experience; BLS

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment and software to assist diagnoses.
• Serve as a lead or resource in the absence of direct leadership.
• Assist in training and mentoring other staff.
• Maintain patient safety and imaging standards; communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
