Overview

GitHub enables organizations to succeed by fostering collaboration for better software development. As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will focus on building strong technical relationships, removing technical objections, and delivering technical wins during sales cycles. This includes identifying customer needs, matching them to product features, and solving technical challenges and pain points. The role bridges technical and business objectives in collaboration with GitHub Account Managers and other internal teams.

Responsibilities
  1. Customer and Industry Insights
    • Identify customer business requirements and match them to product features that align with their digital transformation initiatives.
    • Understand industry-related market trends and challenge customer assumptions through constructive dialogue.
    • Partner with customers and/or partners to provide innovative solutions and integrate GitHub technology into their business.
    • Gather feedback and provide strategic input to enhance customer experience with GitHub solutions.
  2. Trusted Advisor
    • Leverage IT, industry, and business strategy knowledge to coach internal teams on customer technology profiles.
    • Guide customer decision makers on embedding DevSecOps using GitHub.
    • Translate complex technical concepts into understandable language for diverse audiences.
    • Influence and motivate customer technical resources towards business transformation.
    • Support industry engagements and drive adoption of GitHub technology.
  3. Technology Strategy Formulation
    • Resolve blockers to solution implementation.
    • Contribute to creating technological and business roadmaps for accounts.
  4. Sales Partnership
    • Engage in pre-sales activities with large customers.
    • Align and influence stakeholders to target technical wins and drive solution selection.
    • Collaborate across US regions and time zones with multiple Account Executives.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years experience in technical consulting, sales, or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing all technical aspects of the sales cycle.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in digital transformation or business consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, including Git, DevOps, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and AI impacts on developer tools.
  • Experience working with large software development teams.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
Compensation Range

The base salary range for this role is USD $80,640 to USD $214,060 per year, with additional sales incentives. On-target earnings are based on a 70/30 base salary to sales incentive ratio. Compensation varies based on location, experience, and performance. Benefits include bonuses and stock options.
