AHEAD’s Mid-Market Specialist Solutions Engineers are the technical experts that collaborate with our account teams to help identify, qualify, and build solutions supporting our customer’s digital business transformation.

The Mid-Market Modern Datacenter Specialist Solutions Engineer (SSE) will focus on networking technologies, including switches, routers, firewalls, and other products used to manage and secure networks. The SSE is a subject matter expert in these areas, responsible for designing complex solutions and serving as a thought leader in their specialty.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Participate actively in the Mid-Market SSE and service delivery teams.
2. Design and architect technical solutions for clients, acting as a thought leader.
3. Support sales teams during engagements by providing advice, solutions, or proposals tailored to customer needs.
4. Develop relationships with team members, leaders, and partners to support sales objectives.
5. Strategize and execute technical sales calls.
6. Complete pre-sales documentation accurately and efficiently.
7. Qualify sales opportunities based on customer requirements and decision-making processes.
8. Present and market proposed solutions and their business value to clients and management.
9. Mentor entry-level team members.
10. Maintain strong, detailed knowledge of products, technologies, and industry trends.
11. Travel up to 20% as required.

Education and Experience

1. Network infrastructure experience, with Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCIE.
2. Experience with Cisco Nexus 9K, ACI, 7K, 5K, 2K, 1K.
3. Experience with converged network fabrics/infrastructure systems.
4. Knowledge of IP routing protocols, Layer 2 technologies, Cisco core datacenter technologies, ACI, network management, MPLS, DMVPN, multicast, firewalls, VPN, IPSec/L2TP, and Palo Alto Networks certifications like PCNSE.
5. Experience with Palo Alto technologies such as Strata Cloud Manager, Prisma Access, GlobalProtect VPN, and Panorama.

1. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex datacenter environments.
2. Consultative approach to engage with clients as a trusted advisor.

Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 annually, including base salary and target bonus.
