Job summary

Qvest US seeks a Senior Solutions Architect to design and deliver modern software-defined broadcast facilities. You will guide teams through transitioning from SDI/ST 2110 plants to DMF-aligned platforms and orchestrate edge, on-prem, and cloud deployments.

You will lead cross-disciplinary engineering, drive vendor assessments, and ensure on-air performance with robust RFPs and operating models. This role blends design office, lab, and client-site work.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in professional live production, broadcast facilities, outside broadcast, or a systems integrator serving those environments.
• Deep ST 2110 practice: PTP/ST 2059, ST 2022-7, multicast design, NMOS.
• Real IT and network depth: Linux, IP routing, QoS, hybrid cloud.
• Software-defined fluency: containers, Kubernetes concepts, REST/OpenAPI, Git, IaC.
• Solution-architecture craft: client workshops, vendor evaluation, risk, cost, operating model.
• Calm on-air, precise on paper, unwilling to hide behind a vendor.

Responsibilities

• Own solution architecture for software-defined live production, high- and low-level designs, reference architectures.
• Map productions to a graph of media functions and decide on-prem, edge, or cloud deployment paths.
• Specify data and control planes; define I/O edges with ST 2110, IPMX, and SDI.
• Design platform around Kubernetes for media functions, scheduling, timing, and observability.
• Lead multi-vendor integration through SAT and UAT, runbooks, and on-air acceptance.
• Write and defend RFPs, statements of work, and operating models that scale.
• Mentor engineering teams and represent the practice with clients and industry groups.
• Work across design office, lab, and live client sites.
