Job summary

SMX is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect for the DoW solutions, leading design and execution of complex software initiatives across internal and external teams. You will drive architecture decisions, mentor staff, and shape go‑to‑market plans for software solutions in a defense/government environment.

The role requires extensive experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, and modern IT practices, with a focus on customer engagements and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Clearance required: Top Secret
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 10+ years in corporate/government solutions environments with solution architecture leadership
• Experience with software life-cycle management, systems engineering
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, SAFe methodologies
• Experience with modern IT practices, DevSecOps and cloud operations (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Strong design, data analysis and storytelling of technical solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and specification development for next‑gen solutions
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to teammates
• Drive capture and growth activities and client engagements
• Ensure project procedures are identified, communicated and followed
• Provide regular status updates on progress, risks and changes
• Lead research and testing of new software and tools
• Contribute to proposals as author/reviewer and identify resources
• Identify new business opportunities and support SMX leadership
