Job summary

SMX is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to drive design and execution of Department of War (DoW) solutions, leading architecture decisions and coordinating cross-functional teams to meet client needs.

You will mentor staff, stay ahead on DevSecOps, cloud operations (AWS/Azure/GCP), and modern software practices, while developing go-to-market strategies and supporting proposals for new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Top Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or commensurate work experience.
• At least ten (10) years of experience in one or more areas in a corporate or government solutions environment: software life-cycle management, systems engineering, and technical leadership.
• Experience as Solution Architect with full life-cycle customer implementations; familiar with Agile, Waterfall, SAFe.
• Experience with architectural and implementation-level design; customer engagement and project delivery.
• Experience with modern IT practices, DevSecOps, and cloud operations (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Excellent verbal and written communication and storytelling of technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of solutions to support business functions and client requirements.
• Provide technical leadership to teammates and client service delivery.
• Lead architecture and specification development for next-generation solutions; advise development teams.
• Develop go-to-market strategies for software applications and solutions.
• Assist in requirements collection, analysis, and development of plans for project execution.
