Job summary

EY is seeking an experienced Software Architect for the Platforms Practice to lead high‑impact, cloud‑native projects. You will partner with clients, drive end‑to‑end architecture, and guide engineering teams through delivery, governance, and risk management.

You will work across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments, shaping technical strategy, applying security‑by‑design, and delivering AI/ML driven business solutions. This role requires travel and close collaboration with executives and engineers.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for a Master’s degree.
• A minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience architecting and delivering large-scale, highly distributed, cloud‑native systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including responsibility for architectural decisions, trade‑offs, and outcomes.
• Strong background in software engineering, with hands‑on experience in at least two modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript), and the ability to review, guide, and influence implementation quality.
• Deep expertise in software architecture and design principles, including microservices, event‑driven systems, serverless, APIs, data architecture, scalability, resiliency, multi‑cloud, and security‑by‑design.
• Experience designing and delivering AI/ML or LLM‑based business solutions in production environments.
• Experience using AI‑native tools to accelerate software engineering outcomes.
• Ability to communicate in written and spoken form with clients about business needs and translate that into a technical solution.
• High quality organizational and leadership skills.
• Outstanding consulting, communication, and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of technical solutions, ensuring quality and managing operational risks.
• Engage actively in delivery leadership, project management, and client interactions across all project phases.
• Travel frequently to meet client needs and project requirements.
• Solve complex problems using proven methods and evaluative criteria.
• Influence policy and procedural changes with potential broad business impact.
• Provide direction and feedback to teams, contributing to performance evaluations and the hiring process.
• Partner with customer technical leads, client executives, sales teams, and partners to manage and deliver successful cloud solution implementations.
• Own end-to-end architecture: from business requirements and conceptual design through delivery, production, and evolution.
• Lead and influence engineering teams without direct authority; providing technical guidance and setting architectural standards, patterns, and guardrails.
• Strive to be at the forefront of new modern technologies and bring them within the larger team.
• Ensure the successful engineering delivery of assigned projects with hands‑on involvement as needed.
• Work with the engineering team to package best practices and lessons learned into thought leadership and published assets.
