Job summary

System One is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect for Pharmacy Benefits Integration in a hybrid role based in Owings Mills, MD. You will define strategy and lead complex solutions across payer and PBM workflows, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include architecture governance, liaison with PMs and business leaders, and ongoing evaluation of emerging tech to inform migration paths. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT related field required.
• 10 years' experience as an infrastructure architect.
• Experience with large-scale systems development, implementation and maintenance.
• Deep knowledge of healthcare payer and PBM operations (pharmacy benefit management).
• Strong understanding of HIPAA, CMS, NCPDP, HL7, FHIR, X12 interoperability standards.
• Strong API, event-driven, batch, EDI and real-time integration skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership to influence multiple teams.
• Experience in architecture design with cloud, AI/ML, big data and robotics.

Responsibilities

• Establish strategic technology direction and create solution architecture for large initiatives.
• Design technical solutions aligning with industry and enterprise standards.
• Provide technical oversight to IT project teams during planning and implementation.
• Translate business strategies into cohesive solution architectures for enterprise alignment.
• Lead solution design and analysis for complex projects including components and deployments.
• Coordinate delivery, ensure architecture compliance and governance.
• Partner with PMs, product owners and business leaders to support future needs.
• Maintain industry expertise and evaluate emerging technologies for migration strategies.
