Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Solutions Architect III to partner with customers to design end-to-end solutions that balance reliability, security, performance, and cost optimization.

You will mentor fellow architects, contribute to thought leadership through blogs, workshops, and reference architectures, and collaborate across teams to accelerate solution adoption.

This role requires deep technical and business acumen to influence senior leaders and translate strategy into pragmatic designs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Responsibilities

• Design and own end-to-end customer solutions by understanding business context, clarifying assumptions, and architecting systems that balance reliability, security, performance, and cost optimization.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, building relationships with senior leaders and guiding their technology strategy to align short-term decisions with long-term business outcomes.
• Lead technical discussions with customer teams, diving deep into design choices, best practices, and use cases while proactively identifying high-risk or overly complex solution options and engaging the right expert resources when needed.
• Develop and deliver thought leadership content — including sample code, presentations, white papers, and workshops — that educates customers on technology strategy and contributes reusable patterns and reference designs for the broader architect community.
• Collaborate with internal teams across sales, engineering, professional services, and support to accelerate solution adoption, gather product feedback, and translate customer needs into clear requirements for product and engineering teams.
