Job summary

Leidos is seeking a seasoned Solutions Architect SME to lead end-to-end architecture for the Chinook Program, spanning application, cloud, data, and infrastructure. You will influence cross-functional teams, translate mission requirements into secure, scalable designs, and drive modernization with DevSecOps practices.

The role requires top-secret/SCI clearance, extensive enterprise experience, and strong communication with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

US citizenship is required per contract.
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 12–15 years of experience or Master’s with 10–13 years of experience; Doctorate is possible.
12+ years of progressive experience as a Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architect, Systems Architect, Software Architect, or equivalent senior technical role.
Experience designing and implementing complex enterprise or mission-critical applications.
Strong experience with software architecture, distributed systems, system integration, APIs, data, and cloud technologies.
Ability to translate complex requirements into executable technical solutions.
Experience collaborating across software engineering, systems engineering, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and testing organizations.
Strong understanding of modern cloud and software engineering practices.
Experience with architecture documentation, design reviews, architecture decision records, and roadmaps.
Leadership in guiding technical teams and influencing engineering strategy.
Deep knowledge of systems architecture, lifecycle engineering, and systems thinking.
Experience leading architecture reviews and technical working groups.

Responsibilities

Define and evolve end-to-end solution architecture across application, cloud, data, integration, security, and infrastructure domains.
Translate requirements into secure, scalable, resilient solutions.
Develop architecture strategies, roadmaps, reference architectures, and design patterns; lead trade studies.
Provide technical direction to engineering teams and ensure alignment with architecture standards.
Lead cloud and DevSecOps architecture efforts including CI/CD, IaC, and observability.
Integrate security and mission assurance into architecture decisions from the start.
Support Agile and SAFe execution through PI Planning and release readiness.
Define and govern integration strategies, API standards, and interoperability across components.
Communicate architecture decisions, risks, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
Mentor engineers and drive modernization and reduction of technical debt.
