Job summary

Leidos is seeking an exceptional Solutions Architect SME to join the Chinook Program, providing architecture leadership across application, cloud, data, integration, security, and infrastructure domains. You will translate mission requirements into secure, scalable solutions and guide engineering teams to deliver mission capabilities.

The role requires extensive experience in enterprise/mission-critical systems, cloud technologies, DevSecOps, and architecture governance.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required.
• 12-15 years of progressive experience as a Solutions Architect or equivalent.
• Experience designing and implementing complex enterprise or mission-critical applications.
• Strong experience with software architecture, distributed systems, system integration, APIs, data, and cloud technologies.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into executable technical solutions.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing engineering strategy.
• Experience with Agile/DevSecOps environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve end-to-end solution architecture across application, cloud, data, integration, security, and infrastructure domains.
• Translate requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions.
• Develop architecture roadmaps, reference architectures, and design patterns; lead trade studies.
• Provide technical direction to engineering teams and review designs.
• Lead cloud and DevSecOps architecture: CI/CD, IaC, observability, disaster recovery.
• Integrate security into architecture decisions from the start of development.
• Support SAFe/PI Planning and architecture runway development.
• Define and govern integration strategies, APIs, and interoperability approaches.
• Communicate decisions and risks to leadership and stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and drive modernization and reduction of technical debt.
