Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a highly experienced Solutions Architect (Associate Director) to define and lead the architecture of next generation software and system integration efforts. You will guide trade studies, governance, and program-level architecture across multiple product families with hands-on collaboration with product management and chief engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 12+ years experience or advanced degree with 10+ years.
• Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. government security clearance.
• Experience with avionics and test system architecture.
• Experience leading DO-178 and DO-330 certification activities for software development.
• Experience interfacing with broad teams including product management and customers.

Responsibilities

• Define Solution Architecture translating needs into scalable concepts and roadmaps.
• Lead architectural decisions balancing performance, safety, cybersecurity, cost and risk.
• Drive system integration and govern critical interfaces across programs.
• Provide technical governance across multiple product families.
• Align technology strategy with product management and engineering leadership.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (<10%).
