Job summary

AEVEX Maritime Systems is seeking a Senior Mechanical Drafter – SolidWorks to produce and review detailed manufacturing drawings and ensure design intent is clearly defined for fabrication and assembly.

The role requires 5+ years in drafting with SolidWorks and strong knowledge of GD&T, ASME Y14.5, and BOM management. Onsite at Baltimore, MD with collaboration across engineers, manufacturing, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Interprets engineering intent and converts to complete drawings.
• Strong knowledge of drafting practices and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Understands manufacturing processes for machined, welded, and sheet-metal components.
• Uses BOM, drawing templates, and PLM/PDM systems to manage documentation.
• Mentors and reviews drawings for completeness and manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Create and check detailed mechanical drawings in SolidWorks.
• Develop part, assembly, installation, and fabrication drawings.
• Apply GD&T and dimensioning to clearly define design intent.
• Review drawings for completeness, consistency, and compliance with standards.
• Maintain revision history and BOM accuracy.
