Job summary

GNB Global Inc. is seeking a design-focused engineer to support high-visibility Mission Critical Manufacturing projects.

You will design custom engineered steel structures from concept through fabrication, applying DFМ principles and welding specifications to deliver manufacturable solutions. Role requires independent work, multi-project management, and collaboration with engineering, project managers, and production teams across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent hands-on experience in the building/manufacturing industry.
• Expert level knowledge of SolidWorks software.
• Experience creating detailed fabrication drawings, including weld specifications.
• Intermediate level software knowledge in Autodesk software (Office, Excel, Teams, etc.).
• Experience supporting projects from concept through production.

Responsibilities

• Strong hands-on manufacturing experience in a steel fabrication / structural steel environment.
• Practical knowledge of welding processes, weld specifications, and fabrication methods.
• Experience with fixturing / fixture design / manufacturing support tooling.
• Ability to interpret fabrication / shop drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Translate concepts, sketches, or engineering requirements into manufacturable solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, project managers, and production teams to optimize manufacturing execution.
• Support prototype development, testing, validation, and design modifications as needed.
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1, AISC, and structural steel fabrication standards.
• Strong problem-solving / troubleshooting mindset.
