Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a SolidWorks CAD Designer to support a client project by providing independent modeling and drafting support for fire-protection equipment, electrical I&C enclosures, sensors, connectors, and mounting components. Using SolidWorks, you will translate engineering specifications into 3D models and production drawings while applying drafting standards, GD&T, and revision control.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of CAD drafting/design experience.
• Strong SOLIDWORKS experience.
• 3D modeling expertise.
• Experience managing drawings and design documentation.
• Ability to work independently on design assignments.
• Experience with engineering document control systems and vault environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide overflow drafting and design support.
• Create and maintain 3D models and detailed drawings.
• Support Fire Protection and I&C engineering teams.
• Maintain drawings within established drafting frameworks.
• Manage documentation and vault updates.
• Develop mechanical representations of electrical systems.
• Take ownership of independent design assignments.
