Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead static fires, risk buy down, and flight readiness campaigns for solid rocket motor testing. You will mentor junior engineers, drive test system improvements, and act as a technical authority for test infrastructure and campaigns.

Responsibilities include comprehensive test leadership, scalable test architectures, and safety compliance, with the goal of delivering reliable data and accelerating program readiness in a high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of professional rocket testing experience in fast-paced hardware environments.
• Strong working knowledge of hazardous systems and safety protocols.
• Ability to design and lead test campaigns from scratch with focus on safety and repeatability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee large-scale test plans and readiness reviews aligned with program objectives.
• Lead static fire campaigns, real-time operation leadership, and anomaly resolution across programs.
• Deliver decision-ready test data to enable rapid design iteration and risk reduction.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive cross-functional test initiatives.
