Job summary

X-Bow Systems in Huntsville is seeking a Design Engineer to support Solid Rocket Motor design and testing. This role requires strong SRM design experience, manufacturing know-how, and proficiency in CATIA, Fusion 360, PTC Creo, SolidWorks, or NX.

You will work with cross-functional teams to mature concepts and ensure safety and quality throughout the design cycle. The engineer will perform trade studies, support DACs, and help develop manufacturing procedures and safety protocols while staying

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5-10 years SRM design experience, preliminary analysis, and testing.
• Experience with CAD tools CATIA, Fusion 360, PTC Creo, SolidWorks, NX.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5.

Responsibilities

• Digest complex customer requirements with diverse teams.
• Mature preliminary SRM concept designs with Chief Engineers.
• Support DACs on a regular cadence.
• Evaluate advanced manufacturing techniques for agile design.
• Perform trade studies and down-select options.
• Organize and track Mass Growth Allowance (MGA).
• Document design processes, results, and findings for stakeholders.
• Develop manufacturing work instructions, testing procedures and safety protocols.
• Stay up-to-date with propulsion technology trends.
