Job summary

X-Bow Systems is seeking a Ballistics Engineer to advance design, analysis, and testing of solid rocket motor components for diverse missions. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to optimize propulsion systems and ensure safety and reliability across development stages.

The role emphasizes simulations, testing, and collaboration with propulsion, materials, and structural engineers in a fast-paced environment. Remote/hybrid/on-site options are available in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong background in solid rocket motor design, analysis and testing.
• Proficiency with engineering simulation and analysis software.
• Familiarity with propulsion integration and optimization.
• Experience with additive manufacturing and advanced materials is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze solid rocket motor components and systems.
• Collaborate with propulsion, materials and structural engineers for integrated designs.
• Run numerical simulations to optimize thrust, burn rate and pressure profiles.
• Perform lab and ground testing of solid rocket motor prototypes.
• Evaluate manufacturing techniques for motor production.
• Develop testing procedures and safety protocols.
• Document design processes and results for stakeholders.
• Stay updated on trends in solid propulsion technologies.
