Job summary

UGE is hiring a Senior Project Developer to lead community solar, distributed generation, and solar+storage projects across the United States. The role involves interconnection, permitting, surveying, offtake structuring, and financial modeling, while mentoring junior developers.

Candidates should have 6–8 years in renewable energy development, with expertise in community solar and net metering. FTM DG BESS experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of renewable energy development experience.
• Subject matter expertise in community solar, DG solar + storage, and net metering development.
• Experience in BESS development; FTM DG BESS development experience preferred.
• Proven track record of advancing renewable energy projects from origination through NTP/COD.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex development efforts for assigned projects, managing all phases of solar and storage development with minimal oversight.
• Own project development across land use, permitting, interconnection, surveying, offtake structuring, and financial modeling.
• Mentor junior developers and support their professional growth.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Oversee project milestones and budgets in scheduling and ERP platforms.
• Support negotiations for leases, LOIs, PPAs, and other long-term agreements.
• Manage external vendors and consultants to deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Perform due diligence and advanced financial analysis for opportunities in active markets.
• Identify and mitigate risks while driving opportunities for project success.
• Contribute to process improvements, market expansion strategies, and represent the company in industry forums.
