Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, seeks an experienced energy solutions engineer to design, bid, manage, and commission solar PV, battery and EV charging projects. You will collaborate with engineers to deliver high-performance, data-driven building energy systems for diverse clients.

The ideal candidate has 5–10+ years in PV, knowledge of NEC 690, and proficiency with Revit/AutoCAD; NABCEP credentials are a plus. This role supports CMTA’s fast-growing energy solutions practice in Virginia.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of experience in PV & battery installations (small to large commercial).
• NABCEP PV Installation/Designer/Commissioning/Inspector (preferred, not required).
• Knowledge of AC/DC wiring, communications, and monitoring systems (SMA, SolarEdge, Fronius, Chint).
• Thorough knowledge of the NEC code, esp. 690.
• Experience with PV interconnection documents and utility tariffs.

Responsibilities

• Design, bid, manage, and commission PV, battery, and EV charging systems for CMTA clients.
• Collaborate with engineering team to deliver data-driven, high-performance solutions.
• Coordinate project execution from concept through commissioning and handover.
