Job summary

CMTA is seeking a Senior Solar Energy Engineer for its Energy Solutions group in Louisville, KY. You will design, bid, manage, and commission solar PV, battery, and EV charging systems for diverse clients, guiding projects from concept through commissioning.

The role requires strong electrical engineering expertise, PV system design skills, and experience with interconnection and modeling tools. NABCEP is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (required).
• NABCEP PV Installation/Designer/Commissioning/Inspector certification is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of AC & DC electrical wiring, PV interconnection documents and utility tariffs.
• Thorough NEC knowledge, especially Section 690.
• Experience with PV production modeling (SAM, PV Syst, Helioscope).
• Ability to read structural drawings and PV racking systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, bid, project manage, and commission solar PV, battery, and EV charging systems.
• Lead a team of engineers to deliver energy solutions for clients.
• Collaborate with clients to tailor ESPC and design/build projects.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and performance analyses.
