Job summary

Qcells North America is seeking a Sr. Module Equipment Engineer to oversee the manufacture of solar modules, including soldering, inspection, mechanical assembly and machinery management. The role requires strong CAD skills, robust materials knowledge, and hands-on factory experience.

You will run diagnostics, calibrate instrumentation, perform preventive maintenance, and drive improvements in control schemes while ensuring adherence to production timescales and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in module equipment/manufacturing.
• SolidWorks skills including explorer, sheet metal, toolbox and weldments.
• Materials knowledge: corrosion, failure mechanisms, strength of materials.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office; familiarity with project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Run diagnostic tests and repair malfunctioning equipment in plant automation.
• Commission control systems; troubleshoot issues and calibrate instrumentation (flow/pressure, level).
• Perform preventative maintenance; manage spares; input data into CMMS; execute work orders.
• Create solid models and drawings per SolidWorks guidelines.
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motor and motor control problems.
• Conduct root cause analysis; design improvements and reliability features.
• Identify critical components and ensure reliability in final environment.
• Drive operational improvements and cost reductions in control schemes.
• Complete work orders, write requests; collaborate with team to repair equipment.
• Support development and ongoing improvement of solar module equipment.
