Job summary

AES Corporation in Guayama, Puerto Rico, is seeking a Solar & BESS Technician III to support safe, reliable operation and maintenance of utility‑scale PV facilities and substations. You will perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on plant equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

The role requires hands‑on electrical maintenance experience, the ability to read diagrams, and proficiency with CMMS.

Qualifications

• Technical or associate degree in electrical/electromechanical fields.
• Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills required.
• Minimum 3 years in electrical maintenance or utilities environments.
• PV plant experience preferred and working knowledge of LV/MV systems.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, predictive, and emergency maintenance on solar plant equipment.
• Inspect, operate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electromechanical systems.
• Support substations and medium‑voltage systems maintenance.
• Execute switching, LOTO, and operational procedures as required.
• Monitor plant performance and document work in CMMS.
• Assist in developing procedures and technical documentation.
• Work safely and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Travel locally between plant facilities as needed; participate in on‑call rotations.
