Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices is seeking a senior SMTS engineer to join the Datacenter Application & Ecosystem Engineering team. You will influence architecture and lead cross-functional efforts across hardware and software boundaries to deliver critical platform solutions.

You will collaborate with architecture, silicon, firmware, OS, and cloud teams to define strategy, lead reviews, and drive execution while mentoring others and shaping future datacenter technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience in systems software, platform engineering, or virtualization.
• Strong understanding of x86 server architecture.
• Experience debugging complex software using WinDBG and trace tools.
• Experience with Windows Server, Linux, Hyper-V, VMware, KVM.
• Proficient in Python, C, and/or C++.
• Experience building automation frameworks and validation tools.
• Experience running system-level benchmarks and workloads.
• Familiarity with firmware, BIOS, device drivers, or kernel subsystems.
• Able to collaborate with customers and partners.
• Proven track record leading technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead software solution development and validation for datacenter products.
• Drive investigations across hardware, firmware, OS, virtualization, and cloud.
• Provide mentorship and conduct design/code reviews.
• Collaborate with architecture, silicon design, firmware, BIOS, OS, and cloud teams.
• Develop performance characterization and workload analysis.
• Design automation frameworks to improve productivity and quality.
• Lead root cause analysis for customer issues.
• Communicate findings to executives and leadership.
• Represent team in customer and partner engagements.
• Drive continuous improvement for scalability and reliability.
• Influence technical decisions across organizations.
