Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Software Quality Engineer for our Melbourne, FL campus. This role requires a Secret clearance and a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off.

You will provide technical feedback during code reviews and implement data analysis tools to improve software quality. The position involves audits, requirements downflow, contract/naval program participation, and monitoring formal software tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or STEM field; 5+ years of software experience or Master’s with 3 years or PhD with 0 years
• Experience coding in Java, C++, or Python
• Understanding of software engineering principles, practices, and theories
• Ability to work with multiple enterprise-wide systems and problem tracking tools (DOORs, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
• Knowledge of waterfall, spiral, or Agile life cycles
• Active in-scope Secret Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access

Responsibilities

• Provide technical feedback during code reviews to ensure compliance with standards and maintainability
• Implement tools for data collection and analysis related to Software Quality
• Perform process audits of software development processes onsite and at supplier sites
• Review customer, system and software requirements for complete downflow of requirements
• Attend contractual reviews, program meetings and configuration control board meetings
• Assess readiness of software test environments and traceability of requirements to test procedures
• Collect and analyze quality metrics on software activities
• Peer review software documents for accuracy and adherence to standards
• Ensure requirements are integrated into program plans, specifications, and product documents
• Monitor formal software tests to verify procedures and track anomalies to closure
