Job summary

Northrop Grumman, Melbourne, FL, seeks a Principal Software Quality Engineer to join Aeronautics Systems. The role requires strong software QA expertise and a Secret clearance; telecommute is not offered, with a 9/80 schedule allowing every other Friday off.

You will audit processes, review requirements, lead audits, and analyze quality metrics to drive improvements across software development lifecycles, ensuring compliance with standards and contract requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or STEM; 5+ years of software experience or Master's with 3 years or PhD with 0 years.
Experience coding in Java, C++, or Python.
Familiar with enterprise tools such as DOORs, Jira, Confluence and BitBucket.

Responsibilities

Perform process audits of software development processes to assure compliance to policies, onsite and at supplier sites.
Review customer, system and software requirements to ensure complete and unambiguous flow-down.
Participate in contractual reviews, program meetings, and configuration control board meetings.
Examine software test environments to assess readiness for formal testing.
Collect and analyze quality metrics on software activities.
Peer review software documents for content and standards adherence.
Interpret customer technical and quality requirements and integrate into plans and documents.
Provide oversight in discrepancy reviews and software failure investigations.
Monitor execution of formal software tests and track issues to closure.
