Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, Massachusetts seeks a Principal Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives across product development, manufacturing, and software processes, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, and MIL-SPEC where applicable.

You will mentor engineers, lead cross-functional teams, analyze data to prevent defects, and drive improvements in Agile software development and risk mitigation throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience in quality engineering.
• 2+ years programming in C, C++, Java, Rust, Matlab, or Python in Windows, Linux, or Solaris environments.
• Experience with CI/CD systems like GitLab pipelines.
• Ability to anticipate problems and work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and support to customers, suppliers, and employees in resolving issues.
• Assist in the improvement of manufacturing, process, and product efficiency to reduce nonconforming products.
• Ensure products meet the organization's and customers' quality and product integrity requirements.
• Support product development or operations team by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process.
• Lead a cross-functional team in determining root cause of failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Analyze data to identify trends in product quality or defects and mitigate future issues.
• Be a Subject Matter Expert in quality standards and principles across multiple technical disciplines.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical oversight.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
