Job summary

Performance Drone Works is seeking a Senior Software QA Engineer to drive validation for UAV systems and tool development. You will design QA processes, develop test strategies across bench, SITL, and flight tests, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with firmware, embedded, and flight test teams.

You will build and maintain test artifacts, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and ensure readiness for releases with deep system knowledge and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software QA, systems QA, or embedded validation.
• Experience developing Python-based test scripts and automation utilities.
• Proficient with PyTest, Playwright, or similar test frameworks.
• Experience with logs/telemetry (ULog) to diagnose failures.
• Ability to work in Linux-based environments and CI/CD workflows.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and refine QA processes for software and system delivery.
• Develop and execute test strategies across bench, SITL, and flight test environments.
• Define quality checkpoints across dev, integration, and release phases.
• Analyze defects, root causes, and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with firmware, ground control, embedded, and flight test teams.
• Create and maintain QA docs: test plans, test cases, procedures, reports.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and share testing best practices.
• Input on release readiness and validation for new features.
