Job summary

Scientific Systems seeks an experienced QA & Test Engineer to design, execute, and maintain test programs for our autonomy software and hardware/software systems. This role supports deployment on multiple drone platforms and a scaled software product line.

You will perform lab testing, hardware-in-the-loop validation, field demonstrations, and data-driven defect analysis to ensure mission readiness and reliability across aircraft manufacturers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years designing and running test programs for complex software or integrated SW/HW systems.
• Strong experience with test planning, regression testing, and analyzing results.
• Experience with hardware systems, sensors, or embedded platforms.
• Excellent analytical skills including log analysis and data-driven diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans for software and hardware systems.
• Conduct hands-on testing of autonomy modules, sensors, and flight workflows.
• Analyze test outputs and produce defect logs and actionable reports.
• Identify testing risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Support flight test activities with Field Service Engineers and teams.
• Manage test equipment, HIL setups, and bench-test environments.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure quality across OEM platforms.
• Contribute to staffing, test-schedule planning, and future strategy.
