Job summary

FIS in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Software Engineer Lead to join our Auto Finance team. You will provide production infrastructure, on-call support, and defect/enhancement assistance for the Auto Finance lending application, collaborating with client teams as needed.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems and 10+ years of applications development experience, with strong knowledge of end-to-end SDLC, COBOL, and mainframe environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems.
• 10+ years of demonstrated applications development experience.
• Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (waterfall, iterative, etc.).
• Excellent customer service skills for internal and external customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Willingness to share relevant technical knowledge with others.
• Excellent problem-solving, team and time management skills.
• Proficiency in COBOL programming and a mainframe environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides application software development services or technical support in defined projects.
• Develops program logic for new applications or modifies existing logic.
• Codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains software applications.
• Maintains, tests and integrates application components.
• Translates business requirements into product designs and writes specs.
• Participates in planning, analysis and forecasting to plan projects.
• Contributes to data architecture design and performance monitoring.
