Job summary

Apple, Inc. Beats is seeking a world-class Software/Firmware Engineering Program Manager in Cupertino to lead end-to-end software and embedded firmware projects for Beats hardware. You will coordinate across SW, firmware, hardware, QA, marketing and factories to deliver high-quality audio products and accessories.

The role requires strong leadership, planning, and risk management skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and external partners throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• B.S. in CS/CE/EE or related field.
• 5+ years with software development teams in high-tech industry.
• 5+ years software/firmware program management in consumer products.
• Track record of managing products through full development life cycle.
• Experience with suppliers/partners relationships.
• Experience with offshore vendors and development teams.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills across diverse teams.
• Familiarity with PM, bug tracking, and SCM tools.
• M.S. degree is highly desirable.
• Knowledge in wireless, DSP, battery, connectivity, UI/UX, and embedded software.

Responsibilities

• Lead feature definition, implementation and testing with SW engineering, embedded firmware, hardware, and testing teams.
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules.
• Translate complex technical topics into actionable plans for teams and leadership.
• Coordinate with teams to identify issues, prioritize tasks and track risks to schedule and quality.
• Communicate development achievements, timelines and status updates to stakeholders and executives.
• Manage external partner relationships and communication.
• Drive factory readiness in support of hardware builds.
