Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Sr Software Engineering Manager for Tactical Communication Waveforms. Onsite role requiring DoD security clearance and DoD Secret level eligibility. Lead embedded waveform software teams, manage EVMS, and drive agile delivery for RF/crypto integration.

The role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, program execution, and coordination with government customers to deliver secure waveform solutions for warfighters.

Qualifications

• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams in software development/integration/test with FPGA and Crypto Module integration.
• Working knowledge of embedded software development and the use of C++.
• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with extensive experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities and provide technical oversight of software engineers, project engineers, and support organizations in an Agile environment for embedded waveform software.
• Manage scope, schedule, and EVMS-based budget for software activities and risks.
• Demonstrate predictable program execution and continuous improvement.
• Oversee engineering bids and proposals.
• Strategize workforce and staffing, including hiring and career development actions.
• Ensure compliance with development processes and standard work.
• Collaborate across programs to share resources and align objectives.
• Develop networks with stakeholders across RCP Engineering and government customers.
