Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, Software Development to lead a team responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software for the Affera mapping system. The role requires deep experience in regulated environments, software architecture, and cross-functional leadership to deliver safe, high-quality medical software.

The team will work on core product software with a focus on regulatory compliance, product performance, and robust release planning.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python and C++ required.
• Bachelor's degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing software engineering team responsible for core product software.
• Define technical direction, development priorities, and execution plans aligned with product strategy.
• Support planning and execution of release milestones, risk management, defect resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence.
• Recruit, coach, mentor, and retain engineering talent.
• Champion best practices in software development, architecture, cybersecurity, testability, and documentation.
• Contribute to product strategy through technical assessment, roadmap input, and tradeoff analysis.
