Job summary

Envestnet is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Development Engineering to lead a MoneyGuide development team in a hybrid Powhatan, VA setting. You will drive architecture, delivery, and process improvements across multiple engineering squads supporting wealth management platforms.

You will partner with product, data science, and compliance to ensure scalable, reliable systems, while mentoring engineers and building strong technical leadership within the organization.

Qualifications

• Expert level knowledge of coding in C# and design patterns.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment where personal interaction is as valued as process.
• Proficient ability in MS SQL Server.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and oversight to the Software Development Engineering group.
• Oversees team efforts to build scalable, secure platforms in support of Envestnet business operations.
• Aligns priorities across teams and ensures coordinated execution of shared goals.
• Establishes and refines engineering processes (planning, CI/CD, release coordination).
• Leads resolution of cross-team production incidents and systemic issues.
• Manages resource allocation across teams.
• Develops first-line managers and senior engineers into leaders.
• Partners with product and compliance to meet regulatory requirements.
• Identifies operational risks and implements mitigation plans.
• Owns development of a new internal software application to support MoneyGuide.
• Establishes and manages a small team of developers.
• Collaborates across MoneyGuide and Envestnet to implement functionality.
• Coordinates with clients to provide data extractions and customized reporting.
