Job summary

FIS in Milwaukee is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead a multidisciplinary engineering organization focused on strategic planning, modernization, security, and operational excellence. The role is hybrid (three in-office, two days remote) and requires translating priorities into sustainable roadmaps.

You will develop technical leaders, ensure measurable client value, and drive enterprise platform modernization with cloud adoption and AI-enabled development.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years as a leader of software teams.
• Experience leading managers, technical leaders, software engineers and QA.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile, DevSecOps, testing, and release management.
• Experience using engineering metrics to improve quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute engineering roadmaps aligned to product strategy and modernization objectives.
• Lead software engineering and quality engineering teams across planning, design, development, testing, release, production support, and continuous improvement.
• Drive modernization of enterprise data and analytics platforms, including cloud adoption, automation, observability, debt reduction, and AI-assisted engineering.
• Own delivery and operational outcomes by monitoring quality, reliability, security, release readiness, dependencies, and client impact.
• Partner with product, architecture, service delivery, cybersecurity, risk, and senior leadership to communicate strategy and priorities.
• Develop an accountable and inclusive engineering culture through clear performance expectations, coaching, and succession planning.
