Nightwing in Annapolis Junction, MD is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of mission-critical software systems that directly support high-visibility programs for national security.

You will work with a high degree of autonomy, apply advanced software engineering principles, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance applications.

Qualifications

• 10+ years professional software engineering experience.
• Current TS/SCI CI Poly clearance.
• IAT Level II certification.
• Proven experience delivering complex systems with stringent security requirements.

Nightwing is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex, mission-critical software systems. In this role, you'll operate with a high degree of autonomy, tackle high-visibility challenges, and help shape solutions that directly support critical operations. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland

Key Job Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of sophisticated software systems supporting mission-critical programs.
• Apply advanced software engineering principles and agile methodologies to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.
• Work independently on complex functional tasks while contributing to the overall technical direction of the program.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet technical, functional, and security requirements across the full development lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers and, when assigned, overseeing the work of staff supporting specific initiatives.
• Support high-visibility efforts where reliability, performance, and security are paramount.

Minimum Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, or a qualifying substitution as defined by program guidelines.
• Current TS/SCI CI Poly
• IAT Level II certification compliance (required).
• Proven experience delivering complex systems in environments with stringent security and operational requirements.
• Strong ability to work independently while influencing team success and technical outcomes.
• Please Note: This position is Contingent Upon Award Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
