Job summary

Vibrant Planet is hiring an Application Engineer to advance our wildfire resilience platform and utilities tools. You will work with the Elixir/Phoenix/LiveView stack, TypeScript, and a Postgres + Mapbox data layer to translate leading fire science into intuitive, scalable software for land managers and utilities.

You will collaborate across Product, Design, Data, and Infrastructure to ship features end-to-end, improve reliability, and contribute to deployment and observability practices in a

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production web applications.
• Proficiency in Elixir, including OTP.
• Proficiency with relational databases (Postgres preferred) and SQL, including schema design, query optimization, and migrations.
• Demonstrated ability to ship features end-to-end in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full-stack features across our Elixir/Phoenix/LiveView, JavaScript, and Postgres stack, spanning core platforms.
• Work with large geospatial datasets to surface planning and insights for end users.
• Partner with Product and Design to scope and deliver user-facing workflows for land managers and partners.
• Own features end-to-end, from design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
