GliaCell is seeking a Senior Software Engineer focusing on visualization development in Laurel, Maryland. You will lead web-based visualization projects, work with data visualization tech (D3, SVG, Canvas, WebGL), and collaborate with mission-focused customers to deliver impactful software. The role requires 14+ years of SWE experience, TS/SCI with Polygraph, U.S.

citizenship, and strong communication. You will join a team that values hands-on engineering and meaningful work on government

Qualifications

  • Possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • 14+ years of Software Engineering experience with a BS in CS or related field.
  • Four additional SWE years may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Data visualization skills: DOM-based (D3, SVG) or rendering (Canvas/WebGL).
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React and JQuery; JSON experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop visualization and UI for large data sets and KG exploration.
  • Build web-based visualization solutions in JavaScript to visualize data from a Knowledge Graph.
  • Create visual analysis techniques to support end-user decision making.
  • Develop and sustain web tools through rapid development cycles with customer feedback.

The mission is to provide technical expertise that assists in sustaining critical mission-related software and systems to a large government contract.

  • Research areas include visualization, user interface design, machine learning, and other computational techniques and system architectures capable of advancing the state-of-the-art.
  • The activities shall include the development of new visual analysis techniques to enable user exploration, via responsive UX interactions, of complex relationships (to include hierarchical and otherwise).

To be considered for this position you must have the following:

  • 14+ years Software Engineering experience and a BS degree in Computer Science or related.
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Works well independently as well as on a team.
  • Strong communication skills.

Key Skills:

  • Data Visualization proficiency – DOM-based (D3, SVG, etc.) and/or rendering-based
    (Canvas, WebGL, WebGPU, etc.)
  • JavaScript and/or TypeScript

Salary Range:The salary range for this full-time position is $170,000 to $260,000. Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, skills, professional experience, relevant education and certifications. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for this position across our projects. Within the range, your salary is determined by your individual benefits package selection.
