Job summary

Akina, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer with TS/SCI clearance and polygraph for Fort Meade, MD.

You will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain complex software ecosystems, including Jira/Confluence integrations, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless, secure solutions. The role emphasizes leading software development efforts, optimizing performance, and ensuring high-quality documentation and testing across Java, Python, and related tech.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform shell scripting.
• Working knowledge of Configuration Management tools.
• Experience with Linux CLI and Linux tools.
• Experience writing Bash/PHP scripts to automate tasks.
• Recent software development experience in Python and Java.
• Experience with Atlassian collaboration tools and Git-based workflows.
• Experience with IaC and automation tools like Ansible.
• CI/CD knowledge, especially GitLab CI.
• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Git for source code management and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, document and maintain software systems.
• Integrate tools and services for Jira and Confluence.
• Lead teams and ensure adherence to software process.
• Develop data queries and database applications.
• Perform performance analysis and optimization of software components.
• Review tests, debugging and troubleshooting of software.
• Provide input on system design, trade-offs and OSS/COTS usage.
• Coordinate with system engineers and hardware engineers on requirements.
• Write and review system and software documentation.
• Ensure quality control across developed software.
