Job summary

Okta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (TS/SCI) to adapt the OIG product for U.S. government customers. You will design, build, and maintain backend services and frontend interfaces with a focus on distributed systems and AI-enabled workflows, ensuring secure, scalable access control.

You will collaborate across teams to meet stringent government security standards, drive architecture decisions, and mentor peers while delivering enterprise-grade software for high-assurance environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering, shipping enterprise cloud software.
• Strong experience with Java, Python, or TypeScript and REST/gRPC APIs.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, containers, and cloud platforms.
• Experience applying AI tooling across the software development lifecycle.
• Hands-on backend and frontend integration in a scalable system.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Support operations in restricted environments including air-gapped and DoD contexts.
• Maintain security controls, audit readiness, and monitoring for classified networks.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure compliant deployments.
• Identify tech debt and drive improvements in CI/CD, observability, and reliability.
• Partner with Product/Design to deliver user-focused outcomes.
• Mentor peers and raise the team’s technical bar.
