Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy software for defense-related systems.

The role supports GED and related offices, collaborating across hardware, software, and data domains to meet critical national security requirements. You will lead engineers and drive iterative, compliant solutions in a competitive, contracting environment. Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline.
• DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CCNA or SSCP).
• 10+ years of software development experience with DevOps/CI/CD, containers, orchestration, and cloud tech.
• Experience with Web Services and JavaScript (ReactJS).
• Container-based application development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deliver software for scientific/engineering applications.
• Define system and software requirements and obtain customer approval.
• Analyze customer requirements and translate into design.
• Create prototypes and iterative solutions.
• Implement Agile tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket/Git) for collaboration.
• Identify roadblocks and develop software solutions.
• Improve performance through planning and execution of tasks.
• Respond to software discrepancies against requirements.
• Lead junior engineers and guide team efforts.
• Generate/update documents defining software baselines.
